I’ve traded in my expensive over-the-counter facial products for simple and natural ingredients! Not only are they 100% natural, but they are, also, safer and MORE effective than anything you could purchase from the store.

I’ve been using the oil cleansing method on my face for years. I love it and will never go back to cleansers and moisturizers. CLICK HERE to see what the oil cleansing method is and learn more about this safe and effective way to cleanse your face.

Lately, as I’m getting a tad bit older, I’ve been using specific anti-aging essential oils to help promote healthy skin. I created a “facial serum” that uses my favorite essential oils and are known for their anti-aging benefits! Take a look at the oils below…

1) Lavender – Lavender is great for all skin types, but very powerful for mature skin. It is widely known for its calming and relaxing properties but also is great for soothing mild skin irritations.

2) Frankincense – Frankincense is one of the most prized and valued essential oils.  It’s used in many beauty products to slow the signs of aging and to promote a youthful, radiant skin.

3) Geranium – Uses of Geranium essential oil date back to ancient Egypt when Egyptians used Geranium oil to beautify skin.  As an essential oil, Geranium has been used to promote clear, healthy skin—making it ideal for skin care products (source).

4) Myrrh – Ancient records show that Myrrh was deemed so valuable that at times it was valued at its weight in gold. It is also soothing to the skin—promoting a smooth, youthful looking complexion.

I buy only therapeutic-grade essential oils. You can click here to purchase your very own wholesale starter kit at wholesale prices!!!

DIY Facial Serum Recipe

INGREDIENTS:

  • 50ml glass dropper bottle (where to buy online) – we save old stevia bottles and use them for things like this!
  • 4 Tablespoons of Almond oil (where to buy) or Jojoba oil (where to buy)
  • 7 drops each of Lavender, Frankincense, Geranium, and Myrrh Essential Oils (where to buy)
  • Empty 2 capsules of Vitamin E (OPTIONAL)

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Add everything to your glass dropper bottle. Shake.
  2. Apply at night before bed!

I have oily skin that is prone to breakouts (even in my 40’s) – would this serum be beneficial or not because of the oil?

It can actually be used in both ways…however I prefer to leave it on my face because of the essential oils in it.

Hi, I am just starting to get into essential oils, and have found your website to be very useful.

My question is what can I add in the facial serum that will protect my face from sun damage? I presently have mixed in some coconut oil and frankincense in my facial lotion, but I am going to make your serum.
I live on a mostly sunny year-round island. Thank you.

I didn’t have almond oil or Myrrh. Made it with Apricot Kernel Oil and the other EOs. Smells AMAZING!

I recently started using the the oil cleansing method nightly to remove my makeup & love it, but have been wondering about something to help with aging skin & this sounds perfect. Would u suggest using this facial serum nightly or not that often?

How do you apply the Serum? Also, how do you store it?

You can store it on the counter or where you keep your other beauty products. Rub a small amount on your face each night after you have cleaned your face.

Could I use this serum during the day? As far as I know non of these oils are photo sensitive. Why do you recommend this oil for night time? Also how does this work with dry skin?

    Lovely recipe thanks –

I also make a serum with Lavender, Frankincense, Carrot Seed, Pomegranate and Neroli in a Rosehip and Apricot oil 50/50 base. Its amazing leaves your skin so soft and absorbs fast.

    Hi!
Can I use sandalwood? I don’t have Geranium essential oil. And I just bought Hawaiian Sandalwood because I read it is good for skincare.
    Thanks

It will clog up in a spray bottler because of the oils.

Would this be fine with a mix of tamanu and jojoba oils as the carriers? Or maybe just tamanu? I’ve read such amazing things about tamanu for skin and I really want to give it a try!

Yes you could use Vitamin E and olive oil instead if you wanted to. But the almond oil is best for most skin types.

Give a try and see how you like it!

It can last awhile…up to 6 months. IF you put dried herbs in it, then it won’t last as long.
